Since 2014 we have centered creative arts in all of the work that we do. We know that words cannot hold all that we feel and understand, so we do not limit ourselves to one mode of learning.
We uplift artists and creative thinkers in our community.
In 2019 we collaborated with Leslie Barlow, Lola Osunkoya, and Ryan Stopera to launch the first iteration of Within, Between & Beyond. This archival project grew into a large scale installation that was on display at the Minneapolis Institute of Art in 2021, growing from 3 to 16 unique paintings and interviews.

Within, Between, and Beyond uses artistic interpretation and storytelling as an innovative and insightful way forward around issues of race and identity in America today––creating intentional space for individuals to share their experiences and speak their truths. A collaborative project centering the stories and identities of mixed race and transracial adoptee participants, Within, Between, and Beyond in exhibition consists of paintings, audio/video interviews, and a reflection space.

We use dialogue, alternative education, & artistic expression to support mixed people & transracial adoptees of color to learn through an intersectional framework, heal racial trauma, and build community solidarity in the struggle for equity and justice.
We envision a world free from oppressive social constructs, in which we draw on the healing powers of knowing our past, grounding into our present, and cultivating a just future for our descendants.
